ATTENTION DMAIL AND DIXIE GOOGLE WORKSPACE FOR EDUCATION USERS

Utah Tech University will retire the Dixie Google Workspace for Education, including all Dmail accounts, due to the University officially changing its name. If you wish to keep any information from your Dixie Google account, you will need to transfer or download it. Current students and employees can transfer their data to the Utah Tech Google Workspace for Education, while former students and employees should download their data. Most employees have already transferred their data.

IMPORTANT:

All Dmail email services will be discontinued on June 30th, 2024, and all other data will be deleted on June 30th, 2025.

  •  Dmail Email services end: June 30th, 2024

  • All other data deleted (Drive, etc.): June 30th, 2025

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE THE DEADLINES?

Copy your data using the links below.

WHY NO MORE DMAIL AND DIXIE WORKSPACE FOR EDUCATION?

Due to the University changing its name, the Dixie Google Workspace and name will be retired.

WHY ARE GOOGLE ACCOUNTS NO LONGER PROVIDED TO FORMER STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES?

Google changed its Terms of Service and no longer offers free unlimited storage for universities. Since the vast majority of individuals already have personal accounts, the decision was made to no longer provide University-affiliated accounts to former students and employees.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

You will need to move any data that you wish to keep. Current students and employees can transfer their Google data to their new Utah Tech Google account. Former students and employees should download their Google data using this link: https://help.utahtech.edu/kb/article/204-download-your-google-data-with-google-takeout/

WHY DIDN'T THE UNIVERSITY TELL ME I NEEDED TO MOVE MY DATA?

We will continue to send emails to affected users leading up to the retirement date. The frequency of emails will increase as the deadline approaches. We genuinely care about your experience, and we want to make sure you have ample time to prepare.
