ATTENTION DMAIL AND DIXIE GOOGLE WORKSPACE USERS
Utah Tech University will be retiring the Dixie Google Workspace, including all Dmail accounts, due to the University officially changing its name. A new Utah Tech University Google Workspace has been created and all current employees and current students have been provisioned an account on the new system. Any information that you wish to keep from your Dixie Google account will need to be moved either to a new Utah Tech Google account or to a personal account.
Student email services will now be provided by Outlook and not by Google. Utah Tech email can be accessed at https://mail.utahtech.edu.
All Dmail email services will be discontinued June 30th, 2024 and all other data will be deleted June 30th, 2025.
WHY NO MORE DMAIL AND DIXIE WORKSPACE FOR EDUCATION?
Due to the University changing its name, there is a need to retire the Dixie Google accounts.
WHY CAN’T I JUST KEEP MY OLD DIXIE GOOGLE WORKSPACE ACCOUNT?
Google changed its Terms of Service and no longer offers free unlimited storage for universities. Since the vast majority of individuals already have personal accounts, the decision was made to no longer provide University-affiliated accounts to former students and employees.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
You will need to move any data that you wish to keep. Current students and employees can move their Google data to their new Utah Tech Google account. Former students and employees can download their Google data.
