If you have a new device AND still have access to old one

1. Go to the Security Info page in your Microsoft account by following this link: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

2. Sign in using your Utah Tech email and password, then use your old device to pass the MFA requirement

3. Click "Add sign-in method" and from the drop-down menu select "Authenticator app"

4. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app on new device and follow instructions on the computer for registering the new device with the app.

Here is a link to an article with instructions for setting up the authenticator app if you experience trouble:

5. Change your default sign-in method to your new device

Note: It is highly recommended to have multiple authentication methods such as a phone number along with the authenticator app so if one becomes unavailable, you can still gain access to your account via the backup
