My Media
“My Media” will now be in between the search and help options inside the global navigation bar on the left side of your screen instead of in the Canvas course menu. This is where you can see all of your media and record media for yourself and classes as usual. Learn more about using Kaltura "My Media"
Media Gallery
The Media Gallery is used now exclusively for media specific to a Canvas course. It can be accessed through the normal “Media Gallery” option in the Canvas course menu. The Browse and Embed Feature (BSE) within the Canvas Rich Content Editor (RCE) will now support the use of the Quick Ingest feature. This will streamline uploading content to assignments and assignment submissions unlike before. It can still be found in the same RCE location. Learn more about using Kaltura "Media Gallery"
Quick Ingest
With the upgrade, we are introducing the Quick Ingest feature. With Quick Ingest you can upload media straight to the assignment without pre-uploading to Kaltura while using the new quick players. The “Add from Library” button allows you to embed existing Kaltura media into your assignment or submission.
V2 to V7
We have made the move from V2 players to V7 Players which enables faster load times, sleeker design, more customization, and better usability for everyone. This change provides slice-of-life features as well as new security features.
Express Capture
Kaltura Express Capture allows users to record using Kaltura's rich features without the need for downloading, it is all done in the browser. With the new V7 Player this allows for faster performance, allows for less permission issues, and allows users to use the Desktop Capture which was not available before. This can be accessed through "My Media" by clicking "Add New" then "Express capture". Learn more about using Kaltura "Express Capture"
Note: The Kaltura Capture desktop application can still be used to record and upload video to My Media as well.
Dual Screen
Say goodbye to having a small Zoom recording of yourself with a large recording of the room. Changes have been made to Zoom to enhance recording as well as work seamlessly with Kaltura dual screen/PIP, allowing the current speaker and screen to be swapped on demand.

Hotspots & Chapters
Teachers may utilize hotspots allowing students to be able to tell at a glance where something important is. Chapters are useful for not having to split the recording to tell where each item is or for separating where a chapter in learning material is. These can be added in the edit tool in my media. Transcripts
Transcripts no longer spit out of the bottom of the video and take up space - they are now built into the player space with clickable timestamps to take you to any point in the video with settings that allow for better usability while not cluttering the video. Learn more about Kaltura Transcripts
Audio
Audio is now able to be uploaded and utilize the new v7 audio player that allows for different audio speeds, volume, and looping controls.
