Beginning Summer 2026, Honorlock replaces Proctorio as the university’s primary proctoring tool.

Before using Honorlock, you MUST disable or remove the Proctorio Chrome extension.
- Proctorio conflicts with Honorlock and may prevent exams from launching
- This is one of the most common causes of technical issues

What is Honorlock?
Honorlock is an online proctoring tool built into Canvas that:
- Monitors exams using your webcam and screen
- Flags suspicious activity for instructor review
- Provides live, 24/7 support during exams
No separate account is required—everything happens within Canvas.
For Students
- Install the Honorlock Chrome extension before your exam
- Be prepared to verify your identity
- Ensure your webcam and microphone are working
- Use a stable internet connection
- Live support is available during exams
For Faculty
- Enable Honorlock within Canvas quizzes
- Customize proctoring settings as needed
- Review flagged exam sessions after completion
Testing Center Exams
If you want students to take exams in the Utah Tech Testing Center, you should use Respondus LockDown Browser instead of Honorlock.
